Deep steam cleaning

The full intervention, in one visit. We take your mats apart, steam every tile, disinfect, reassemble. Tomorrow’s class runs as scheduled.

Deep steam cleaning is a sanitary reset of the training surface: tiles are separated, vacuumed, treated with high-temperature dry steam on both faces, then disinfected with a registered product. A one-time intervention, done overnight or between class blocks, anywhere in Greater Montreal.

Who it is for, and when

This service is for gyms whose mats have never been taken apart, or not in a long time. The typical case: a jiu-jitsu or MMA school whose daily routine is a mop and a spray bottle. The surface looks clean. The underside of the tiles, the seams and the grain of the vinyl have never been touched.

Good moments: before a new session, after an intensive camp or seminar, before hosting a competition, when taking over a space that already has mats. After a confirmed skin case in a group, ask for emergency decontamination instead.

  • New session or gym opening
  • After a camp, a seminar or a competition
  • Before hosting an event
  • Taking over a space already fitted with mats

What is included

Every visit follows the same protocol, in the same order, on every tile. Nothing is treated on the surface only.

  • Full tile disassembly and HEPA vacuuming of the grain, the seams and the floor underneath
  • High-temperature dry steam on the rolling surface and on the underside
  • Disinfection with a registered product, for the dwell time the manufacturer prescribes
  • Forced drying, reassembly in the original layout, final inspection
  • Written visit report, with photos

How the visit goes

We arrive after your last class or before the first. The crew works zone by zone to free up the surface progressively. The mat is ready about 30 to 60 minutes after forced drying: we never leave a gym with a damp mat.

Duration depends on the area, the tile type and the starting condition. You get a time estimate with the quote, and the actual end time in the report.

Why steam rather than a water wash

A water extractor pushes liquid into a tile engineered not to absorb it. The water runs down the seams and settles between the mat and the concrete: exactly the environment mould looks for.

Dry steam does the opposite: very little water, a great deal of heat, near-instant evaporation. It sanitises the grain and the seams without soaking the foam, and leaves a tile you can reassemble the same evening.

FAQ

What gym owners ask us

How much does a deep clean cost?

The price depends on the area, the tile type and the starting condition. Tell us the approximate area and what is on the floor: you get a written quote, no site visit required.

Do I need to prepare the gym?

Ideally the surface is clear of bags, dummies and mobile equipment. We handle the rest. If equipment needs moving, we plan it together at the quote stage.

Does a product smell linger after the visit?

No. The disinfectant is applied for the prescribed dwell time, then the surface is dried. The mat is handed back with no sticky residue and no lasting chemical smell.

Is one visit enough?

One visit resets the surface. To keep it healthy, we recommend a deep clean every 4 to 8 weeks depending on class volume, which is what the maintenance contract covers.

An outbreak costs more than a cleaning.

Tell us your square footage and the type of tiles you run. You get a written quote, with no mandatory site visit.
